Seen a post from a user of SAM Broadcaster who wants to move his current SAMDB MySQL database over to a new machine and appears to be having trouble doing so.
That’s the problem with SAM Broadcaster while there is a backup feature in the software AFAIK it only backs up program files/settings and NOT the database, You have to use external software or batch files if you want to even attempt to try and backup your MySQL database in SAM.
The database structure itself in SAM is badly written & its a pain to try and do any website integration with even using the PHP templates as a guide.
RadioDJ doesn’t have this issue it comes with a tool that enables you to backup your RadioDJ database every day and if you decide to move to a new machine all you would need to do is restore the .SQL backup using the database setup tool.
Yes it really is that easy!
You can never have too many backups!
Not being able to backup the database from SAM Broadcaster is a major flaw in the software and its abilities, mind the database goes wrong that often with SAM that you have to reinstall it after a crash anyway or at least that was the case when we used it.
Dare I say it? Its just another reason RadioDJ is SUPERIOR to SAM we don’t have any issues backing up with RDJ
Try RadioDJ for yourself today you may find it outperforms other radio automation software.
