Reinstalling Sam Broadcaster

Saw a tweet from a SAM Broadcaster user having to reinstall the program after it had gone wrong on him and wouldn’t restart after a reboot of the PC.

“In the process of reinstalling SAM Broadcaster it completely refuses to load even after system reboot”

We know how this user feels it’s happened to us on many occasions over the years. SAM Broadcaster goes wrong and crashes for no reason even in the newer versions.

SAM-Broadcasterstopped working

It’s frustrating when SAM Broadcaster crashes during a live show and then won’t restart after a reboot of the PC and you have to faff around reinstalling the program and database from scratch.

We’ve yet to hear of anyone having an issue with RadioDJ randomly crashing on them and not restarting after a computer reboot.

RadioDJ free radio automation software

The MySQL database in RadioDJ is far more solid and robust than the SQL/Firebird databases in SAM.

Plus RadioDJ has an amazing database backup tool that backs up your SQL database at a set time each day.

In the unlikely event of the RadioDJ database going wrong due to a power outage it’s easily fixed using HeidiSQL

Saving your RadioDJ configuration settings is also easy you just backup the RadioDJ program folder to another location (USB Drive/External Drive) after you have all your settings the way you want them.

Heidi-SQL

It’s rare for RadioDJ to actually crash or go wrong.

We can honestly say hand on heart that we’ve never had RadioDJ crash on us while recording a show/mix or even during a live show in the 5+ years since we discovered the program.

The smart DJ’s and radio station owners are now starting to steer away from using SAM Broadcaster.

If you should get stuck on how to install RadioDJ there’s a great tutorial on how to install it Here

Once you get used to what RadioDJ free radio automation software can do for you & your radio station you’ll wonder why you ever paid $$$ for SAM Broadcaster.

Despite what other software manufacturers might have you believe there are NO hidden fees/catches or problems with RadioDJ.

Make the switch today… RadioDJ isn’t your enemy It’s your FRIEND!

Stop Accusing People!

Not a month goes by without me seeing some user being accused of running pirated copies of Spacial Audio software by the SVS volunteers on the Spacial forums.

Old version SAM Broadcaster

Hold on just one minute! Not everyone who asks for help with an older version of software is running a pirated version.

There were many legitimate users of Spacial software in the past.

Accusing someone of running pirated copies of software when they aren’t is just wrong.

Yes we are well aware that SAM Broadcaster v4.2.2 was the most pirated version ever and people asking for help with that version are probably running a cracked copy.

Just because someone couldn’t afford to update from an older version of software doesn’t mean the copy of the software they use is illegal.

The SVS volunteers on the Spacial forums really need to take a step back when replying to a user having issues with Spacial software.

Yes some of the people who post are probably using a pirated version of SAM Broadcaster but NOT everyone…

If the SVS had read the post right in the first place they would have seen the user was actually using a 30 Day trial version of Spacial software.

My message to the SVS volunteers: STOP and think in future before you accuse someone of running pirated software when they aren’t!

It only makes you look pathetic…

There should be NO need for anyone to be running pirated copies of Spacial software when there’s better software for FREE

Stop Blaming Peoples Internet Connection

Reading a topic on the Spacial forums from a user who’s having those dreaded “Buffering” issues with the encoders in SAM Broadcaster.

The SVS volunteers on the Spacial forums are trying yet again to blame the problem on the user’s connection.

It’s NOT the user’s broadband connection, ISP or even shoutcast/icecast server at fault, It’s the encoders in SAM Broadcaster being poorly coded. The user has already explained that their Internet connection is working as it should…

The SAM Broadcaster encoders have failed on us several times on several different computers with different ISP providers, They even buffered while streaming to a local shoutcast server on the same PC. So it’s not someones connection at fault.

Even the old winamp DSP plugin encoders would suffer from the same problem.

DSP encoders

“It’s a long standing BUG in badly coded software”

SAM Broadcaster encoders disconnection

I’ve written before about the encoders in SAM Broadcaster buffering.

It’s nothing new there are still over 28 pages of posts on the subject on the SAM Broadcaster forums.

All of those users being told it’s their computer or Internet connection at fault when in reality it’s the software itself.

This is not an issue we’ve ran into using other encoding software. We never had a problem with buffering when we used other software to encode with.

We last used the Streaming plugin for RadioDJ to do a test with and it held up for well over 10 days without any errors or buffering.

We only had to restart the PC because of Windows 10 updates.

The encoders buffering in SAM Broadcaster is a BUG that has never been fixed and has been in the program since the days of version v2.7.7

We really do wish Spacial SVS support on the forums would stop blaming peoples connections when the encoders buffer in SAM Broadcaster.

Sam Broadcaster 2015 Crashes!

This morning I thought I’d install & see if anything changed with the latest version of SAM Broadcaster.

Sadly it hasn’t.

I started SAM Broadcaster 2015.4 up, configured it, connected it to Shoutcast, pressed play and off it went.

I got called away to help a neighbour with something & I was only gone 5 minutes IF that.

Just need to clear up a couple of things…

Firstly: Someone has uploaded a mix to Soundcloud using DJ Garybaldy as the name of DJ who remixed the track.

NOTHING TO DO WITH ME!!!

That remix is NOTHING to do with me.
