It was a question asked a few years back on a radio forum, So why indeed is some radio software free?

I wondered how long it would take for the search terms for SAM Broadcaster 2018 to start appearing.
Recently someone’s searched Google for “How To Get SAM Broadcaster 2018 full FREE?” and then landed on my website as its shown up in Google analytics.

We first discovered & started using RadioDJ radio automation software way back in 2010 but it was 2011 before we used it full time.
We started looking for another automation solution because SAM Broadcaster was getting annoying & just wouldn’t work as it was supposed to.

Yes I’m aware this is another post about RadioDJ and how great it is BUT the fact is its far more stable and reliable than other expensive radio automation software which you can pay lots of $$$, £££ or €€€ for.
“We discovered RadioDJ via a Google search around Nov 2010 but hadn’t used to its full potential until the fateful events of New Years Eve/Morning 2010/2011, We switched to using RadioDJ on the afternoon of 1st January 2011 after SAM Broadcaster went horribly wrong on us overnight while we were asleep”
We experienced what is known as a ‘Clockwheel Failure’ where SAM would only play Station ID’s and Jingles even though the clockwheel rotation in SAM had over 5,000 tracks to choose from sothere shouldn’t have been an issue.
Switching to RadioDJ was the best decision I have ever made when it came to software, It was easy to use once I configured its database and options.

This is just a quick heads up for anyone using Windows XP who is thinking of updating RadioDJ from v1.8.2 or older to the new version.
You can’t you’re stuck with v1.8.2 as v2.0.0 requires .NET 4.6.1 and that by all accounts won’t install on Windows XP.
“Bummer. 4.6.1 will not run on XP SP3. That kills that idea. Oh well. Guess I have to move up to Win 7”

One of my followers on Facebook had his copy of RadioDJ v1.8.2 up and running for 2 years.
He only stopped it to try and upgrade to the latest version of the software.
“All I can say to that is WOW! it makes RadioDJ a record breaker in my books”
I’ve never known a piece of radio automation software that is as reliable and stable as RadioDJ and yes you can quote me on that.
