This is another website that popped up on my radar recently called “PalScripts” offering paid for PAL (Playlist Automation Language) scripts and an SQL repair service for SAM Broadcaster.

Beware Spacial Audio!

Just been for my daily snoop on the Spacial audio forums and yet again it doesn’t make for good reading.

“I had sent an email to Spacial Audio tech support last week to ask about rolling back to version 4.x.x if for some reason I had a problem with v2014.1 and their reply was: “once (sic) you converted to 2014 you cant rollback to version 4.x.x

 
This user has already paid for version 4.x.x and is now being told by Spacial Audio support that he cannot use a version of SAM Broadcaster he paid for in the event of him wanting to switch back.

Lazy Sql Programming (Sam Broadcaster)

I keep seeing posts on the Spacial forums from users having headaches with SAM Broadcaster and MySQL.

This is nothing new I’ve written about the SQL structure in SAM Broadcaster being badly written before.

Users are being told they cannot use MySQL 5.6 with SAM Broadcaster and have to use 5.5 instead.

Game Over Sam Broadcaster!

So finally after 2 or so years of waiting RadioDJ now has a working online request system via the new website templates.

Something SAM Broadcaster has had the ability to do since v1.3.

The song at the top of the playlist marked blue is one I just placed in the queue via my website.

Explains A Lot About Sam Broadcaster

So the truth is finally out. We now know the reason SAM Broadcaster 4.x.x series won’t work on Windows 8/10.

It would appear SAM Broadcaster is written is Borland/Embarcadero Delphi. A programming language that most developers abandoned years ago.
