Seen a post from a user of SAM Broadcaster who wants to move his current SAMDB MySQL database over to a new machine and appears to be having trouble doing so.
That’s the problem with SAM Broadcaster while there is a backup feature in the software AFAIK it only backs up program files/settings and NOT the database, You have to use external software or batch files if you want to even attempt to try and backup your MySQL database in SAM.
Seen a couple of posts recently on social media from radio station owners & DJ’s all stating they couldn’t do their shows.
“I won’t be on air this week I just hope SAM Broadcaster doesn’t fuck up on me again next week” “No live show tonight we’re off air until further notice we need to repair SAM Broadcaster” “Kind of nervous for my show tonight hopefully they can solve this SAM Broadcaster problem” “Won’t be doing my live show tonight SAM Broadcaster won’t co-operate” “Won’t be broadcasting today sorry SAM Broadcaster is playing up because of an error”
A: I could never get through a radio show without something going wrong with the software
I got into Internet radio about 20 years ago when SAM Broadcaster had only just been released so I think I know the programs annoyances and quirks.
Whether it be the program crashing/freezing or the encoders buffering on me nothing ever worked as it should.
“It got tedious having to constantly reinstall/reconfigure SAM Broadcaster after a crash. I thought at first it was a problem confined to my computer but its gone wrong on every operating system we’ve ever tested it on”
