Saw a topic on the Winamp forums from a user wanting to use Winamp Pro to automate the music for his radio station.
Do I need a plugin to make playlists so it operates 24 hours? If so, which ones are the best? this is for music playlists but I want Winamp to never stop, It will actually be used for a small radio station.
We love it when we see someone new to the RadioDJ forums praising the program.
“I’m starting to set this nifty piece of software called RadioDJ completely to my hand and make it work for me like no other broadcasting-software ever could! RadioDJ is lean, it’s fast, and it NEVER fails!”
Indeed RadioDJ free radio automation software is such a stable and reliable program
A user has posted on the feature request section of the Winamp forums asking the developers to include “Smart crossfading” in the next version.
Smart crossfade analyses the playlist and determines if the songs are in increasing sequential track order from the same album. If they aren’t (like in most random mixes) user defined crossfading is used”
Any improvement in crossfading between tracks in Winamp would be welcomed.
A: I couldn’t do a radio show without something going wrong with the software.
I got into Internet radio about 20 years ago when SAM Broadcaster had only just been released so by now I think I know the programs annoyances and quirks.
Whether it be the program crashing/freezing while trying to add music or the encoders buffering on me nothing ever worked as it should.
It got tedious having to constantly reinstall/reconfigure SAM Broadcaster after a crash. At first I thought at first it was a problem confined to my computer(s) but its gone wrong on every computer we’ve ever installed it on.
Over the last couple of years now Spacial audio have gone with a subscription based model for the newer versions of SAM Broadcaster.
Nothing wrong with that I hear you say…
However should your subscription run out part way through the year, You are left stuck with the last version of SAM Broadcaster your subscription was eligible for & you would need to pay out $$$ all over again to upgrade to the latest version.
