7 Years Of Bliss Using RadioDJ

Yes I’m aware this is another post about RadioDJ and how bloody great it is BUT the fact is its far more stable and reliable than other expensive software which you can pay lots of $$$ or €€€ for.

I discovered RadioDJ via a Google search around Nov 2010 but hadn’t used to its full potential until the fateful events of New Years Eve/Morning.

We switched to using RadioDJ on the afternoon of 1st January 2011 after SAM Broadcaster went horribly wrong on us overnight while we were asleep.

“We experienced what is known as a ‘Clockwheel Failure’ where only Station ID’s and Jingles would play even though the clockwheel rotation had over 5 days of music to choose from”

Switching to RadioDJ was the best decision I have ever made when it came to software, It was easy to use once I configured its database and options.

Help! I Can’t Install RadioDJ (v2.0.0)

Installing RadioDJ v2.0.0 the easy way…

RadioDJ V2

We know it can be daunting and scary installing radio automation software for the first time.

Especially if you aren’t used to using software that requires a database, but don’t panic it’s not as difficult as you might think.

If you follow these easy steps and have a bit of patience then you should have the program up and running in no time.

1) Starting off with a FRESH clean install of your Windows operating system is a good bet (But not essential)

You may experience issues if you have a system clogged up with junk files they can slow performance down. Use CCleaner to remove junk files and repair the registry.

Don’t forget to backup files/databases/program settings IF you decide to reformat Windows.

Once you’ve reinstalled/cleaned Windows junk files and downloaded & installed all required security patches/updates/drivers for your PC then you can begin the process of installing and configuring RadioDJ.

MariaDB 3 Years And Counting

Just been looking back on various posts on my Facebook page from around this time 3 years ago.

I realised it was around June 2014 when we were first made aware of MariaDB an alternative to Oracle MySQL

Since that first install 3 years ago things have ran smoothly. We’ve not had to rebuild the RadioDJ database from scratch once.
