Seen a post from a user of SAM Broadcaster who wants to move his current SAMDB MySQL database over to a new machine and appears to be having trouble doing so.
That’s the problem with SAM Broadcaster while there is a backup feature in the software AFAIK it only backs up program files/settings and NOT the database, You have to use external software or batch files if you want to even attempt to try and backup your MySQL database in SAM.
Yes I’m aware this is another post about RadioDJ and how great it is BUT the fact is its far more stable and reliable than other expensive radio automation software which you can pay lots of $$$, £££ or €€€ for.
“We discovered RadioDJ via a Google search around Nov 2010 but hadn’t used to its full potential until the fateful events of New Years Eve/Morning 2010/2011, We switched to using RadioDJ on the afternoon of 1st January 2011 after SAM Broadcaster went horribly wrong on us overnight while we were asleep”
We experienced what is known as a ‘Clockwheel Failure’ where SAM would only play Station ID’s and Jingles even though the clockwheel rotation in SAM had over 5,000 tracks to choose from sothere shouldn’t have been an issue.
Switching to RadioDJ was the best decision I have ever made when it came to software, It was easy to use once I configured its database and options.

Installing RadioDJ v2.0.0 the easy way
We know it can be daunting and scary installing radio automation software for the first time.
Especially if you aren’t used to using software that requires a database, but don’t panic it’s not as difficult to setup as you might think.
If you follow these easy steps and have a bit of patience then you should have the program up and running in no time.
1) Starting off with a fresh clean install of your Windows operating system is usually a good bet.
(But not essential)
Don’t forget to backup files/databases/program settings IF you decide to reformat Windows.
Once you’ve reinstalled/cleaned Windows junk files and downloaded & installed all required security patches/updates/drivers for your PC then you can begin the process of installing and configuring RadioDJ.
