A: I couldn’t do a radio show without something going wrong with the software.
I got into Internet radio about 20 years ago when SAM Broadcaster had only just been released so by now I think I know the programs annoyances and quirks.
Whether it be the program crashing/freezing while trying to add music or the encoders buffering on me nothing ever worked as it should.
It got tedious having to constantly reinstall/reconfigure SAM Broadcaster after a crash. At first I thought at first it was a problem confined to my computer(s) but its gone wrong on every computer we’ve ever installed it on.
We’ve been accused of Making up the problems about SAM Broadcaster…
We’re not making anything up, things really are as bad as they seem with SAM Broadcaster. The problems documented on this website and its posts are just a few of the reasons as to why we think SAM Broadcaster isn’t worth the $299 Spacial Audio charge for their software.
We can think of quite a few reasons you might want to choose an alternative to SAM Broadcaster, but here’s a collection we’ve put together.
Lousy Customer Support
When you pay $$$ for software you would expect help and support if something went wrong.
When SAM Broadcaster goes wrong (and it will) don’t expect to get much help from Spacial Audio: The Spacial support department sends users the same old canned replies without actually helping anyone. Even the forums and social media accounts are staffed by people who don’t really care.
Anyone who has ever encountered this problem with SAM Broadcaster knows how frustrating it can be when this error message appears in encoders window.”Unable to send data fast enough Encoding paused until buffer clears”
