We’ve used RadioDJ as our music automation solution since January 2011.
The one thing we can say about RadioDJ is once you nail the settings of the built in sound/audio processing then all your music will sound great.
“WOW! We just tested RadioDJ and it gave us the playout sound we wanted by default”
We’ve tried all sorts of settings and configurations on the processor plugin over the years some worked & some didn’t, it was all trial and error.
These are the settings we currently use and everything sounds great through RadioDJ v2.0.0 the audio sounds really professional IMHO.
We’re pleasantly surprised by how good everything sounds with these settings.
Note: While these audio settings work for us there is no guarantee they will work on your system. You don’t have to use these settings you can always tweak if needed. These settings are merely a suggestion.
In fact I’d go as far as say those settings are just about perfect, It makes it a pleasure to listen to music.
“The sound settings only work on the main soundcard/player any other sound cards/Aux players will bypass the sound processing”
You will need to provide external sound processing for those other channels/sound cards.
We also find its usually best to encode music files as mp3 at 320kbps to get reasonable sound quality or FLAC if you have huge amounts of disk space…
Crap In = Crap out Especially if the quality isn’t that great from the ripped file
(If the CD is badly recorded/pirated then the sound quality won’t be that good always use a genuine CD or Download)
Remember: If you put the hard work in with your sound then you will attract lots of listeners, There’s no excuse for a bad sounding/distorted radio stream.
The sound quality is just one of the reasons why RadioDJ is so great as a radio automation solution.
Did we mention RadioDJ is also FREE?
RadioDJ will have a paid for version eventually but the basic version will still be free for those who require basic automation
