The Secret Is: Don’t Use Godaddy!

Just seen a post on the Spacial Audio/SAM Broadcaster forums where a user wants to set his request function up. The user states their website is hosted by GoDaddy.

That’s where the problem lies he will never get SAM Broadcaster requests working as Godaddy don’t have the SQL port 3306 or the other port 1221 open.

I’m sure someone will point this out to him eventually.

Remote Database Issues? (RadioDJ)

Every now and then we see users having database issues with RadioDJ.

Then in the next sentence they then mention they are attempting to use a remote MySQL database instance.

STOP IT! seriously you will have nothing but headaches if you do try to run RadioDJ on a remote database.

RadioDJ has an online request system which enables people to request from your (PHP) website..

Providing someone gives their name when requesting a song, You can also now Include the username of the person who requested the song in the stream title.

Something that you needed a badly written PAL script for SAM Broadcaster.
