I visited the Spacial forums recently just to see what the latest gripes/issues about SAM Broadcaster were.
I saw this post from a user and boy did it make me smile!

Recently a couple of users of RadioDJ free radio automation software asked how they should go about transferring the RadioDJ settings to a new computer.
Moving RadioDJ to a new machine with the same settings is really easy.

The 31st of January 2016 will go down in history as a dark day for Internet radio when Live365 closes down.
The closure of such a big player in the streaming industry is going to leave 1000’s of Internet radio stations/Broadcasters without a licensed stream.
It was Live365 that sparked my interest in Internet radio way back in 1999/2000 time.
I listened to a lot of different stations via dial-up some I enjoyed some I didn’t.

Spacial Audio have had something of a monopoly when it comes to Internet radio software.
Over the last 18 years or so people wanting to run an Internet radio station have generally only had 1 option and that was to pay $$$ for radio automation software.
SAM Broadcaster may well have been the No1 selling radio automation program.
But NOT anymore! RadioDJ v1.8.2 has now been downloaded over 200,000 times

A user has posted on the feature request section of the Winamp forums asking the developers to include “Smart crossfading” in the next version.
Any improvement in crossfading between tracks in Winamp would be welcomed.

I saw there had been an update for Radiocaster the stand alone encoding software from DJSoft.
I downloaded and installed it to do a few tests again. Not much appears to have changed really since I last tested version 2.3.0.
The demo still has the annoying “Stream encoded by Radiocaster” popping up every few minutes.
We can’t really test something that puts audio over the stream now can we?
