A user has posted on the Shoutcast forums about a problem he’s having with @Listen2MyRadio blocking links to external players.
“Listen2MyRadio is a free Shoutcast service that requires listeners to tune in via a badly coded web page”
They don’t allow you to have external connections for that server.
They do paid plans as well as to how well the paid for servers fair we don’t know.
Read reviews before you commit to buying anything.
I’ve tried the free service once or twice over the last 10 or so years it’s been around.
Every time It’s buffered within 10 minutes of starting a stream or cut out completely requiring a restart of the Shoutcast encoders.
It’s not what you could call reliable at all.
Why even bother with the Listen2MyRadio free service? It’s no where near good enough to run a full time radio stream with.
The alternative is either get a cheap VPS for around $2.50 a month and run your own Shoutcast server on that.
Find a reliable Shoutcast host who will be able to give you the stability and quality you need. Any good Shoutcast host will answer any questions you may have before you sign up.
“Beware of Shoutcast hosts who claim to be able to give you “Unlimited” listener slots/bandwidth”
If you decide you want to go down the road of getting your own VPS there are plenty of tutorials on Google about how to set Shoutcast up on a server.
If any these free services were any good we’d be telling people to use them but Alas they aren’t as good as people expect.
