Just seen a post on the Spacial forums from a user using SAM Broadcaster Cloud to stream in Second Life.
He appears to be suffering with those dreaded “buffering” issues with the SAM Broadcaster Cloud broadcast control.
“I came home to DJ and every time I login into SAM Broadcaster Cloud, and connect to broadcast, it just buffers, And buffers, And buffers some more…”
The user has stated that he’s restarted SAM Broadcaster, His computer, His internet router & everything else he could think of and the problem is still persisting.
Things like this should NEVER happen with radio automation software and their associated cloud services!
Q: How is someone supposed to do a radio show IF the software/cloud solutions decide they don’t want to play ball?
Buffering problems with SAM Broadcaster are nothing new.
Buffering used to happen all the time with their Winamp DSP encoders.
The fact the buffering issue is still happening with newer versions of their software should be ringing alarm bells!
Its another long standing bug that has never been addressed.
“It seems the Spacial development team cannot get anything right when it comes to their software, they’ve ploughed headlong into getting the cloud based solution working that they seem to have forgotten to check if there were any bugs in the code they had added to SAM Broadcaster”
They appear to lurch from one bad release to another year on year.
Our advice: Forget paying $$$ to Spacial Audio for their products that won’t work & find another solution, i’d suggest asking for a refund BUT Spacial Audio generally don’t refund money once you’ve purchased services/software from them.
