Seen a post from a user of SAM Broadcaster who wants to move his current SAMDB MySQL database over to a new machine and appears to be having trouble doing so.
That’s the problem with SAM Broadcaster while there is a backup feature in the software AFAIK it only backs up program files/settings and NOT the database, You have to use external software or batch files if you want to even attempt to try and backup your MySQL database with SAM. Even after all that the events table isn’t backed up as part of the backup and you will lose all your SAM Broadcaster events.
Anyone who has ever used SAM Broadcaster can attest to how awful the built in Voice FX feature can be when it doesn’t work as advertised.
My microphone does not reliably work within SAM Broadcaster. Every time I turn the microphone on and off again in the Voice FX panel, it will not work again the next time and that clearly isn’t great for a broadcast
I tried and failed on several occasions to get the Voice FX working in SAM when I first started using the software.
So you’ve installed RadioDJ and imported your music and you’re stuck as to what track rotations are let me try and explain a little.
Track Rotations in RadioDJ selects the music only from the categories you tell it to choose from, You can have multiple rotations for different moods, just don’t forget to save the rotation once you’ve created it.
Also make sure when creating a rotation item that the repeat rules boxes are checked so you don’t have any repetition in songs.
Important: Try not to apply repeat rules to Jingles or Station ID’s you need them to be available to the rotation, I always loaded my jingles by “Least recently played” and sometimes “Random” when we ran a backup stream for another radio station a few years ago.
