A station owner posted a feature request on the RadioDJ forums asking for a GPIO system inclusion in the software.
Nothing wrong in that I hear you say…

This is by far and away the best comment that someone else has said about Spacial Audio Solutions LLC.
It would appear that Spacial Audio do NOT like it when someone pulls them up about their lies in their blog posts.
Spacial Audio always seem to throw their toys out of the pram or bury their heads in sand when it comes to SAM Broadcaster and it’s major ISSUES!

I’ve blogged before about the SAM Broadcaster activation system NOT being fit for purpose.
It seems one SAM Broadcaster user is frustrated that they cannot activate SAM on a new machine.
Reading the post on the Spacial forums it appears this users problems stem from the key apparently being used by other people.
It appears their copy has been activated on Spacial activation system systems over 12 times. Spacial only allow 3 activation’s per licence.

We’ve had people arguing with us on Social Media that RadioDJ isn’t totally free and still comes with hidden costs.
No contracts – No catches – No keys – No hidden fees – No activations – No gimmicks*
You download the software for nothing
You are free to use the software when you want, where you want & how you want.
Is that clear enough for you?

I keep seeing posts on Twitter from quite a few long time users of SAM Broadcaster who constantly seem to complain about Spacial Audio support and not getting help from them.
When I asked one of the users on Twitter as to why he puts up with the crap customer support he said this …
“It’s not the software I have an issue with, it’s the appalling customer service”
So you’re not having any issues with SAM Broadcaster? Just Spacial audio customer service?

We’ve had grief again for promoting RadioDJ, and dispelling a few myths about it too.
It’s almost as if certain sections of the Internet radio crowd see RadioDJ as a threat?!
“We also realise that certain people in the world of online radio don’t like this website/blog because of our posts about SAM Broadcaster and its many issues”

I recently went onto the RadioDJ forums to see what was happening.
There was a post from Marius the website owner stating that the Altacast sub forum had been removed.
“We were notified that Altacast is violating DMCA and as a result I will remove all related stuff from this forum.”
Marius went onto say this: For support, please contact its author and don’t use our forum.
It appears Altacast is breaking DMCA rules somewhere. Like its predecessor Edcast/Oddcast.
(Although we cannot find a DMCA complaint related to the Altacast website or software)
It now means support for Altacast Standalone/Plugin/DSP is somewhat limited.
For future updates you’re probably best keeping an eye on the Altacast Website
Be aware that future versions of RadioDJ may not support the Altacast plugin.
Which means you will have to find another alternative to stream with.
Update 2018: Altacast seems to be a dead project now there have been no updates since March 2016, the only reason there is still a website is because its hosted on a free hosting package.

Saw this post on a forum on a post about RadioDJ free radio automation software.
“The biggest fail with RadioDJ to me is the reliance upon a MySQL database”
Having an MySQL database makes programming on your website (PHP) really straight forward, You can show what’s currently playing or recently played or even take listener requests.
The fact RadioDJ relies on a database for some of it’s functions is actually one of it’s PLUS points.
