Radiocaster 2.5.0

I saw there had been an update for Radiocaster the stand alone encoding software from DJSoft.

Radio caster 2.5.0

I downloaded and installed it to do a few tests again. Not much appears to have changed really since I last tested version 2.3.0.

The demo still has the annoying “Stream encoded by Radiocaster” popping up every few minutes.

We can’t really test something that puts audio over the stream now can we?

Sam Broadcaster Pro Activation Key

We find it truly staggering just how many people look for ways to crack/pirate SAM Broadcaster Pro.

Not a day goes by without us seeing someone somewhere searching on Google Analytics for pirated/cracked versions of Spacial Audio software.

Configuring The Windows Firewall

Configuring your firewall

If you’re just running RadioDJ with no webpage linked to the RadioDJ database, then you probably don’t want to add any exceptions to your firewall.

If you’re using a request system and need this extra functionality, you’ll first of all need to make sure your web host has the right ports open. Without this, there’s no point proceeding any further on this article. Check the database utility > Database installation tab. You’ll see the IP address of your server in the MySQL Server box. If there’s a colon followed by more numbers at the end, this is your port number. If there’s no colon, you’re probably using the default port 3306.

You’ll also need to configure port forwarding on your router as well, google the manufacturer’s instruction manual for this bit.

Now for the easy part, configuring the firewall.

Starting Or Restarting SQL

How to quickly start MySQL

sql-stoppedFrom time to time, for whatever reason, SQL might not start when you boot your computer, and the first thing you know about it is this message when you try and start RadioDJ.

To resolve this you can usually just start the service manually:

Tip: On Windows 8.1/10 right click the start button and select run > services.msc

Quickly Re-Enable All Tracks (RadioDJ v2.0.0)

How to re-enable all your tracks

If you store your music on an external hard drive, and accidentally fire up RadioDJ with the drive unplugged, this won’t cause a problem unless you also start playing, and you’ll quickly end up with a lot of disabled tracks.

This can easily be resolved with the database utility and a short SQL script.

One word of caution, this will re-enable all tracks, including any you’ve manually disabled.
  1. Open HeidiSQL log into your database and paste the following query into the query tab and click on the blue (play button at the top) to execute the query

Why I Hate Sam Broadcaster!

I got into Internet radio about 20 years ago when SAM Broadcaster had only just been released so by now I think I know the programs annoyances and quirks.

Whether it be the program crashing/freezing while trying to add music or the encoders buffering on me nothing ever worked as it should.

It got tedious having to constantly reinstall/reconfigure SAM Broadcaster after a crash. At first I thought at first it was a problem confined to my computer(s) but its gone wrong on every computer we’ve ever installed it on.
