If It Wasn’t For The Spammers This Place Would Be Dead.

To say things have been a little bit quiet on the Broadcasting World forum lately would be an understatement.

One of the users made this observation over the weekend.

“Wow, if it wasn’t for the Russian dating person, the forum would be dead!”

The Main Target Were The Hobby Users…

A station owner posted a feature request on the RadioDJ forums asking for a GPIO system inclusion in the software.

“Is possible to add GPIO to an event like a play/stop command it could be used turn ON/OFF channels on the mixer, Also I would like to have spots management and scheduling in radio DJ. It would be great for RadioDJ to have a Web interface from which I can import track/spots, scheduling, reports and other things or drupal modules”

Threatened By Free Software?

We wish we knew what people's problem is with free software...

We’ve had grief again for promoting RadioDJ, and dispelling a few myths about it too.

It’s almost as if certain sections of the Internet radio crowd see RadioDJ as a threat?!

We also realise that certain people in the world of online radio don’t like this website/blog because of our posts about SAM Broadcaster and its many issues.

Live365 Closes, So What Next?

The 31st of January 2016 will go down in history as a dark day for Internet radio when Live365 closes down.

The closure of such a big player in the streaming industry is going to leave 1000’s of Internet radio stations/Broadcasters without a licensed stream.

It was Live365 that sparked my interest in Internet radio way back in 1999/2000 time.

I listened to a lot of different stations via dial-up some I enjoyed some I didn’t.

Radiocaster 2.5.0

I saw there had been an update for Radiocaster the stand alone encoding software from DJSoft.

Radio caster 2.5.0

I downloaded and installed it to do a few tests again. Not much appears to have changed really since I last tested version 2.3.0.

The demo still has the annoying “Stream encoded by Radiocaster” popping up every few minutes.

We can’t really test something that puts audio over the stream now can we?
