Sam Broadcaster Terrestrial Licence.

Have you ever read through the EULA (End user licence agreement) when it comes to SAM Broadcaster?

SAMbroadcaster20166

(Most people haven’t)

We can’t help but notice how Spacial make it difficult to use their software. You’d be pretty amazed at the restrictions Spacial Audio do actually place on the their software.

Especially with a normal copy of SAM Broadcaster Pro ($299).

(Section 2e) The software may not be used to transport and stream any terrestrial radio broadcasts and/or communication.

Q: If SAM Broadcaster Pro cannot be used for terrestrial purposes… Why does it have built in FM broadcasting capabilities via a PCI card?

If you want to use SAM Broadcaster to broadcast over terrestrial AM/FM signals.

Spacial Audio will ask you to hand over $699 for the Studio edition of the program.

That is a lot of money for a radio station owner to part with & there is no way on earth that SAM Broadcaster is worth that much money.

Mind terrestrial stations tend to use software that costs thousands not some overpriced hobby software.

Even as a normal user It would appear you can’t do much with a copy SAM Broadcaster Pro.

God forbid you should want to run more than 2 online stations at a time. Spacial Audio don’t like you doing that either!

“You are only licensed to stream one station per SAM Broadcaster Pro licence”

There is a simple FREE solution to this. Use RadioDJ radio automation software instead.

RadioDJ free radio automation software

RadioDJ has fewer restrictions and is FREE for use by any radio station or DJ anywhere in the world.

“You can run RadioDJ where you want, when you want & run as many instances of the program that you require. Without having to stump up any $$$ whatsoever!”

Think about it!

Why bother shelling out $$$ for software that isn’t always guaranteed to work and could cause you all sorts of legal nightmares if you use it for something other than what it states in the EULA (End User Licence agreement)?

Just more reasons why Spacial Audio software sucks IMHO!

Using An Old Copy Of Sam Broadcaster?

Are you still using an OLD copy of SAM Broadcaster? from the 4.x.x series or SAM DJ version 4.x.x

As from January 1st 2015 Spacial will end support for

SAM Broadcaster v4.x.x SAM DJ v4.x.x SAM Cast v3.x.x

Support for SAM Broadcaster v2 & v3 ended some years ago.

We’re guessing this also applies to posts on the forums as well.

So the basics of it are If you bought an old version of SAM Broadcaster – SAM DJ – SAM Cast you will not be supported if something goes wrong in future.

“Plus a really old copy of Spacial Audio software may not function on Windows 10”

We know this is something that most software companies do after they have released newer versions of the software so we’re NOT having a go at Spacial because of this.

If you are using a really old version of SAM Broadcaster maybe it’s time you thought about upgrading your current software for something that doesn’t require you to pay $$$ for updates!

Most of the Internet radio community seem to be switching away from software such as SAM Broadcaster and using RadioDJ instead.

Radio DJ is FREE between updates and has a great Support Forum where other users come to your rescue when something goes wrong.

Unlike the Spacial forums where the SVS team accuse people of running cracked copies of the software & don’t seem to want to help users with problems.

You can’t be accused of running a cracked copy of RadioDJ because of the fact it’s free!

Spacial Audio Customer Revolt?

Spacial Audio Customer Revolt?

I wouldn’t say there’s a customer revolt going on on Spacial audio’s facebook page at the moment but it would seem all is not well.

These customers took to complaining on the Spacial facebook page over the weekend.

revolt4

revolt3

revolt2

revolt1

So yet again you see it’s NOT just me that appears to have issues with Spacial audio and SAM broadcaster.

Spacial need to wake up before their whole business goes down the swanny.

I just love this quote from the Spacial marketing dept “Owners of the current version will have a lot of interesting surprises next year!”

WTF? People will stll have to pay even more money to get those features.

If you are fed up to the back teeth with being taken for a ride by Spacial Audio and their fees for SAM Broadcaster.

Then the solution is simple!

Switch to the better Radio DJ FREE Radio automation software instead.

You will get the support you need when something goes wrong via the user forums.

It really is time people stopped buying software from Spacial.

Stop treating your customers as “Cash Cows”

Sam Broadcaster 2014.6

I see Spacial have released SAM broadcaster 2014.6 today for their registered users.

Changelog: -v2014.6 (11 Novemeber 2014)
* AAC decoding support.
* Fix SpacialNet encoder archive issue.
* SAMVIBE: Add support polling when Websockets fail.
* SAMVIBE: Encoder now automatically detect server changes.
* SAMVIBE: Synchronization improvements for Live Broadcasting window.

(Notice they can’t even spell November correctly)

As you can see it’s just more updates to do with SAM Vibe than actually fixing any of the major bugs in the program.

So far this year every release seems to have been over taken with SAM Vibe stuff rather than any new additions to the program itself.

The only major update is it can apparently now play AAC files.

A feature that had been asked for at least 7/8 years ago on the feature requests on the forum.

If it’s taking them that long to add new features then they really are taking the piss out of their user base.

You the user are just paying Spacial’s development team to be lazy.

It’s not like they’ve done anything major to update the software this year.

Users of the software have yet again have paid through the nose for a few minor additions.

This is why the whole yearly subscription plan with SAM broadcaster really does suck.

Stop paying Spacial for crap software & switch to a better FREE alternative like

Radio DJ FREE radio automation software.

RadioDJ works and is proven to be more stable than SAM broadcaster.

Spacial Audio Magically Disappearing Posts

Spacial Audio Magically Disappearing Posts (Abracadabra)

Don’t bother complaining to Spacial Audio via their Facebook pages. It appears that who ever is in charge of managing the pages doesn’t know how to deal with complaints.

Posts magically disappear before they can be seen by people.

That is no way to run customer service. It’s just another reason why people shouldn’t deal with Spacial Audio.

If they can’t handle criticism from unhappy customers why do they bother having Facebook pages?

It’s always been the same especially on their forums the minute you dared to complain about SAM broadcaster not working a moderator would either lock the post or remove it altogether

I know of other software companies who actually welcome complaints via Facebook so they know where they are going wrong with things.

Spacial need to stop burying their heads in the sand and actually start listening to what’s going wrong with their software.

It’s the only way thing will improve.

Next time your looking for radio automation software don’t buy from Spacial you will only regret it when something goes wrong.

Sam Bashing

Yet again I’ve been given a barrage of abuse by some troll, The person had a go at me about the posts on this website about SAM Broadcaster.

I also had to ban the same person from my Facebook page for the same reason.

Not something I do lightly either.

“Get a grip! I’m not bashing SAM Broadcaster. I’m letting people know just how truly terrible SAM Broadcaster is as a product”

It’s not just me who seems to have a problem with Spacial Audio either.

I keep seeing complaint after complaint on social media from lots & lots of very unhappy SAM Broadcaster users. These are just some of the many posts.

So you can see it’s not just us who think SAM Broadcaster isn’t worth the money Spacial Audio ask for the program.

So pack in having a go at me just because you think I’m bashing SAM Broadcaster and Spacial Audio.

Not a month goes by without someone mentioning they’ve switched software because they are unhappy with the direction Spacial Audio seem to be heading.

SAM Bashing? Nope! It’s just a valid point of view about a piece of badly coded software.

Which last time I looked I was entitled to.

P.S: If you don’t like what is written on this website. DON’T READ IT! No one forces you.

Beware Spacial Audio!

Just been for my daily snoop on the Spacial audio forums and yet again it doesn’t make for good reading.

“I had sent an email to Spacial Audio tech support last week to ask about rolling back to version 4.x.x if for some reason I had a problem with v2014.1 and their reply was: “once (sic) you converted to 2014 you cant rollback to version 4.x.x

This user has already paid for version 4.x.x and is now being told by Spacial Audio support that he cannot use a version of SAM Broadcaster he paid for in the event of him wanting to switch back.

Not only is this bad customer service it is also “dishonest” IMHO!

I wouldn’t mind so much but this comes just a few weeks after Spacial promised to start giving better support.

Goes to show they haven’t changed.

I’ve just come across this comment on Facebook. This guy doesn’t sound to happy.

My message as always:

“Beware Spacial Audio! It seems they don’t give a damn about their customer base and only want you for the $$$ you part with. They have a nasty habit of telling LIES just to sell their shoddy software. Do NOT buy software from Spacial Audio you will regret it”

Instead why not use something like RadioDJ free radio automation software.

It’s FREE between updates doesn’t require keys or activations in order to work the program.

We’ve used RadioDJ for over 5 years now and couldn’t be happier with the stability and reliability of the software.

Something else that cannot be said for SAM Broadcaster.

You won’t regret it and you’ll have money to spend on other studio essentials.

Sam Cast Fail

Reading through the Spacial forums this post caught my attention.

Screenshot from 2013-10-26 15:52:30

Yet again Spacial seem to be releasing software that isn’t fit for purpose.

They forced people into upgrading to the newer version of SAM Cast just so they could run the newer versions of the software on a new OS.

No software company should do that.

Instead they should make sure their software works on all versions of Windows.

Letting the end user decide what operating system they want to use.

If you need a stand alone encoder then don’t bother with SAM Cast.

It doesn’t support title streaming (Unless you have a degree in programming)

Simplecast was the same that never worked properly either that was prone to crashing without warning as well.
