Cracking Software Gromit

Cracking Software Gromit!

You have to wonder what software authors can do against a tide of cracked versions of their software.

It’s a particularly noticeable problem with radio automation software.

After doing a quick search on a newsgroup search engine the results looked like this.

50+ results for DJ Soft’s Radiocaster.
134+ results for DJ Soft’s RadioBoss.
725+ results for SAM Broadcaster.

I took a screenshot so you can see what I’m on about.

That’s without needing to do a search on Google or other search engines!

We guess while there is still software out there that requires a registration key there are always going to be people trying to crack those pieces of software.

Even if the cracks don’t work these idiots will still have a go.

There is NO need for them to download cracked/pirated software.

Especially when stuff like RadioDJ and Edcast are both free.

RadioDJ actually works better than some of the paid for software such as SAM Broadcaster and RadioBoss.

“Hey KIDS! You really don’t need warez software on your PC! You’re more than likely to run into malware & viruses by using pirated software”

Plus most of the SAM Broadcaster crack patches on offer on the Internet won’t work on Windows 10 no matter how hard you try.

Spacial Audio have now coded something into SAM Broadcaster to stop it being patched/cracked/altered.

We’re still waiting on a response from the author of RadioBoss & Radiocaster to see what he has to say about people using his software illegally.

(Alas Still no reply from DJ Soft nearly a year after this article was originally written)

You’d have thought he would have at least had the decency to reply?

I know Spacial Audio put in several DMCA notices every year to try and stem the tide of cracked copies of their software.

It seems Spacial Audio genuinely thought the posts on this website about cracked/pirated copies of SAM Broadcaster were offering people links to illegal downloads of the program.

Sorry Spacial you were wrong on that score!!

All posts pertaining to cracked/pirated/warez software on this blog are in the context of:

Why use pirated software when there are better FREE legal alternatives out there to use?

Stop using pirated software… No one likes a software pirate!

Sam Broadcaster They’ve Cracked It (Again!)

I did a few posts last year about people wanting cracked copies of SAM Broadcaster.

When I wrote them I had no idea that those posts would take on a life of their own.

(According to Google analytics) In the last 90 days 13,571 visitors to my blog have actively been looking at the posts to do with SAM Broadcaster keys/cracks.

We knew SAM Broadcaster was a popular program when it came to software being cracked/patched

(SAM Broadcaster v4.2.2 being the most pirated version out there)

SAM Broadcaster 4.2.2

We had no idea that so many people were desperate to get their hands on an illegal copy of SAM Broadcaster but the stats tell us everything.

“You will NOT get a cracked/patched copy of SAM Broadcaster (4.7.3 >> 4.9.8) working on Windows 10 No matter how hard you try!”

We believe Spacial Audio have added code into the newer versions to stop them being altered/patched/cracked

When will these people learn that they DON’T need a SAM Broadcaster crack/patch/key they just need RadioDJ

RadioDJ is a FREE radio automation program that doesn’t require any keys/patches/cracks in order to unlock the full benefits of the program.

RadioDJ

It works like an automation program should and won’t crash on you like cracked copies of SAM Broadcaster are known to.

Come on people stop trying to crack SAM Broadcaster…

SAM Broadcaster really isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Plus a cracked/warez/pirated copy will never work properly for you.

You can download RadioDJ for FREE (No Catches or Hidden fees) by clicking on the picture below.

(If the link isn’t working for you right click and “Save Link As”)

Here’s a link to a tutorial about How to setup RadioDJ.

Once you get used to what RadioDJ does you’ll wonder why you ever bothered with a dodgy copy of SAM Broadcaster!

Sam Broadcaster High Cpu Usage?

Q: Have you ever noticed the amount of CPU/memory that SAM Broadcaster uses?

Users have reported that they cannot run SAM Broadcaster without it maxing out their CPU.

“I’m running a machine with 2GB RAM and SAM Broadcaster is taking most of the memory and the CPU is up at 70%-80% making the PC sluggish.

Ever since SAM Broadcaster v2.x.x the program has always required huge amounts of the CPU/memory.

SAM Broadcaster always has been a resource hog no matter how much processing power your PC had.

Sam Broadcaster Lots Of Bugs?

Recently read a post on a forum where someone was listing the radio software they had worked with over the years.

When it came to SAM Broadcaster he had this to say.

“I don’t care what anyone says there is so much evidence that this piece of software was never intended for radio it is buggy and crashes and has no place in a radio studio”

We’ve had SAM Broadcaster crash on us more than once while trying to run a radio stream.

Back when SAM Broadcaster was on v2.7.9 it crashed that often that it ended up losing me my regular slot on a radio station. Which in turn made me doubt my ability to manage a live show. Gee thanks for that SAM you piece of S**T!

You see it’s not just us that think SAM Broadcaster isn’t fit for purpose in the world of radio automation software.

It was 1999/2000 when I was first introduced to SAM Broadcaster found it difficult to use on v1.3

SAM was a product conceived & designed in 1999 by some college students & hobby broadcasters & hasn’t seen a great deal of development.

“SAM Broadcaster has no place in the world of radio automation software”

We’ve tried the newer versions and it just seems to be the same OLD program with very few new additions.

SAM Broadcaster still has the same bugs/issues the program had back in 2002/2003.

Our biggest bug bears about the problems with SAM Broadcaster:

The database goes wrong with tables randomly crashing.
The encoders buffered a lot even with a decent upload speed.
Clockwheel rotations failed to load tracks even though they had enough music to choose from.
The program would randomly crash without warning.
PAL scripts used far too much of the CPU sometimes locking the PC up altogether if they were badly written.

SAM Broadcaster has never been a program you could use to run a professional radio station with.

It was designed for hobby broadcasters who maybe get 10/15 listeners but not for a station that has 100’s or 1000’s of listeners.

As the original post stated “It is buggy and crashes”

When we used SAM Broadcaster 4.x.x we had to keep a constant watch over it just to make sure it hadn’t crashed or stopped encoding.

There are better options for streaming a radio station with nowadays.

Namely Radio DJ free radio automation software.

RadioDJ free radio automation software

We can just leave RadioDJ to the streaming without having to worry or keep checking to see if it’s still streaming.

One user of RadioDJ has had over 12 months of uptime on an XP laptop.

If people stopped paying Spacial Audio for their products then maybe Triton Digital would get the message that SAM Broadcaster isn’t wanted anymore.

“STOP buying SAM Broadcaster from Spacial Audio. You are only paying them to code bad software”

We Promised To Work Really Hard This Year

Back in January 2015 Spacial Audio sent out a newsletter to people informing them of what was likely to happen with their software this year.

Dumping Sam Broadcaster

I visited the SAM Broadcaster page on Facebook recently and saw this post.

It seems the person manning the social media accounts for Spacial Audio has since deleted the post.

Sam Broadcaster Clockwheel Failure

Just seen a post on the Spacial forums from a user complaining that they have had a “SAM Broadcaster clockwheel failure”

When a clockwheel failure happens in the program, SAM Broadcaster only plays station ID’s instead of playing music from the categories the user has specified within the clockwheel rotation setup.

This has been a huge problem with SAM Broadcaster ever since the early versions of the SAM Broadcaster 2.x.x series.

Why Is Sam Broadcaster Crashing?

Someone recently made a search “Why is my SAM Broadcaster crashing?”

We’ve also noticed these search terms pop up on our dashboard.

“SAM Broadcaster 4.9.1 crashes on Windows 10”
“SAM Broadcaster crashing windows 7”
“SAM Broadcaster crashes after one song”
“SAM Broadcaster crashes without warning”
“SAM Broadcaster Pro keeps crashing after a few songs”
“SAM Broadcaster keeps freezing”

We often see people saying things like this about the lack of stability with SAM Broadcaster.

“We’re running SAM Broadcaster Pro on Windows 7, It often crashes and sometimes won’t restart after a computer reboot which means we have to reinstall the program from scratch”

samcrashw10

“I have SAM Pro on two laptops neither will work because of constant problems with your software crashing”
