Stop Blaming Peoples Internet Connection

Reading a topic on the Spacial forums from a user who’s having those dreaded “Buffering” issues with the encoders in SAM Broadcaster.

The SVS volunteers on the Spacial forums are trying yet again to blame the problem on the user’s connection.

It’s NOT the user’s broadband connection, ISP or even shoutcast/icecast server at fault, It’s the encoders in SAM Broadcaster being poorly coded. The user has already explained that their Internet connection is working as it should…

The SAM Broadcaster encoders have failed on us several times on several different computers with different ISP providers, They even buffered while streaming to a local shoutcast server on the same PC. So it’s not someones connection at fault.

Even the old winamp DSP plugin encoders would suffer from the same problem.

DSP encoders

“It’s a long standing BUG in badly coded software”

SAM Broadcaster encoders disconnection

I’ve written before about the encoders in SAM Broadcaster buffering.

It’s nothing new there are still over 28 pages of posts on the subject on the SAM Broadcaster forums.

All of those users being told it’s their computer or Internet connection at fault when in reality it’s the software itself.

This is not an issue we’ve ran into using other encoding software. We never had a problem with buffering when we used other software to encode with.

We last used the Streaming plugin for RadioDJ to do a test with and it held up for well over 10 days without any errors or buffering.

We only had to restart the PC because of Windows 10 updates.

The encoders buffering in SAM Broadcaster is a BUG that has never been fixed and has been in the program since the days of version v2.7.7

We really do wish Spacial SVS support on the forums would stop blaming peoples connections when the encoders buffer in SAM Broadcaster.

Sam Broadcaster 2015 Crashes!

This morning I thought I’d install & see if anything has actually changed with the latest version of SAM Broadcaster 2015

Sadly it hasn’t.

I started SAM Broadcaster 2015.4 up, configured it, connected it to Shoutcast, pressed play and off it went.

I got called away to help a neighbour with something & I was only gone 5 minutes IF that.

When I came back the stream was silent… Then I looked on the computer running SAM & an error message on Windows 7 said SAM Broadcaster had “Stopped working” you know, that really annoying error!

Nothing in the SAM Broadcaster error logs, Only this in Windows event viewer.

(@DINONETRADIO) November 13, 2015

@spacial I downloaded the 2015-4 version of SAM Broadcaster and it crashed several times. Anyone else having issues?

(@TheCRV) November 12, 2015

So nothing has actually changed with SAM Broadcaster 2015 then? It’s still prone to crashing without warning and for no apparent reason.

I’m surprised the Spacial social media feeds aren’t lit up with complaints about this

“That’s saying they haven’t deleted the bad comments from the social media pages again”

Why do people still pay Spacial Audio $$$ for software that clearly doesn’t work for what it was designed for.

I could understand people paying $$$ if Spacial Audio software worked as advertised but sadly yet again we come to the conclusion that FREE software outweighs SAM Broadcaster for stability & reliability.

I’ve yet to experience the same random crashing issues with RadioDJ free radio automation software.

I’ve used RadioDJ for around 5 years now I couldn’t ask for anymore from the program it does what it’s supposed to “Automate”

RadioDJ is far better programmed and will work for days/weeks/months without anyone keeping an eye on things.

“Gonna put that new PC to the test this year. Going to run and tweet 4 stations using RadioDJ on the same PC”

That’s another reason why RadioDJ is far superior to SAM Broadcaster… the fact you can run as many radio stations you want with the software.

I’ve not seen that use running 4 stations tweeting that any of his stations are ever offline.

If you want great reliability, stability & just a great piece of software then you need RadioDJ

(Click on the logo to download the latest version of RadioDJ or Right click & “Save link as”)

I’m just hazarding a guess as to why Spacial Audio’s social media feed isn’t lit up with complaints.

I’m guessing a LOT of people are switching software to RadioDJ

Oh and despite what Spacial may have you believe in their blog posts.

FREE radio automation software isn’t your enemy! It’s your friend!

If you haven’t discovered RadioDJ yet what are you waiting for? Download & Install take it for a test drive today.

You might just be pleasantly surprised by how good RadioDJ is and you’ll wonder why you ever paid out $$$ for software such as SAM Broadcaster in the first place.

Soundcloud & A Few Other Niggles.

Just need to clear up a couple of things…

Firstly: Someone has uploaded a mix to Soundcloud using DJ Garybaldy as the name of DJ who remixed the track.

NOTHING TO DO WITH ME!!!

That remix is NOTHING to do with me.

I do mixes but I sure as shit don’t try remixing stuff that’s never been my bag.

I’m guessing it’s some kid in a bedroom somewhere calling himself by the same name.

“I’ve never had a Soundcloud account and have no intention of signing up for one anytime soon”

I’m also aware of another UK DJ calling himself DJ Garybaldi that’s NOT me either he’s a DJ from London!

I do how ever have genuine mixes done by me on Mixcloud.

Which can be found on my Mixes page

Secondly: Not every BAD radio software review or post is done by me…

Bad software review

If I think a piece of radio automation software is a PILE OF PANTS! Then I will tell people via this BLOG!

I certainly wouldn’t be posting it on a forum that’s why this BLOG was setup because I wasn’t allowed FREE SPEECH about a certain piece of software.

So next time get your FACTS straight!

” Not every bad radio automation software review is done by me. I don’t need to review any other software again as RadioDJ is just the perfect program and always will be”

Thirdly: You can block me all you like on Social media… (Looks at Spacial Audio)

I can still see the lies & spin by looking at your Twitter profile from another browser/account.

I realise you don’t like me because of my dislike and posts about your badly coded software.

If SAM Broadcaster had been coded properly in the first place. Maybe I wouldn’t be letting people know just how shoddy your products are Spacial Audio.

Last time I looked it was called an OPINION. But of course you don’t believe in FREE speech do you Spacial?

“The second someone dares to criticise you or your software on Social Media you remove their posts and block them.

Not a very professional way of dealing with people who may be spending hundreds of $$$ with you”

Spacial need to start to listening to their customers & they also need to stop lying to their customers otherwise they’ll not win any respect.

Last fuck given.

I’ve long stopped caring what the TROLLS and naysayers in the world of Internet radio think about me…

“I’m getting far more “Thank You’s” for certain blog posts than I am abuse these days so I must be doing something right somewhere!

N.B: Remember other blogs are also available…Feel free to read one of them if you don’t like what’s written on mine!

Sam Broadcaster Unhandled Exception (Not Enough Storage)

Just seen this topic on the SAM Broadcaster forums.

“SAM Broadcaster Unhandled Exception (not enough Storage)”

It seems a user was getting this error message as he was trying to add large amounts of music into SAM Broadcaster.

Message in Event log. Unhandled Exception (thread Creation Error Not enough storage available to process this command)

This SAM Broadcaster user sounds like he only managed to get 58,000 tracks of 88,000+ imported into SAM Broadcaster then the program wouldn’t let him add anymore.

The guy has even tried a computer reboot and still cannot get tracks imported into SAM Broadcaster without the program crashing on him.

“Well I added a few more SAM Froze again (same error) I then rebooted my PC now I cannot do Tools->Maintenance->Verify songs as SAM Freezes part way through with a “stopped responding” message”

Apparently the guys on Stack-overflow say this is a Delphi problem with Heap Size exceeded.

“The storage referred to is NOT the hard disk storage but the available heap memory available to the SAMBC.exe process. It’s not even about any system-wide memory exhaustion, but a process limit. Not sure if there are any other scenarios where this might happen or how SAM Broadcaster looks internally (except that it was written in Delphi) This sounds like a memory leak error and only Spacial Developers could fix that.

So it’s another major bug that has never been addressed within SAM Broadcaster? At least that’s how I read it.

I’ve not heard of anyone having trouble loading large amounts of music into other radio software and it’s database.

The SQL database in SAM Broadcaster has always been dodgy anyway.

It’s not the first time I’ve heard of someone struggling to load a large amount of tracks into the program.

This user could have his library imported with very little hassle if he switched to RadioDJ

RadioDJ free radio automation software

I’ve never heard of RadioDJ suffering with huge memory leaks while importing music.

AFIK There are no memory leaks within RadioDJ it’s a pretty reliable piece of software. One user had an uptime of 12+ months.

It seems yet again SAM Broadcaster isn’t doing the job it was designed for.

“Why do people still pay Spacial Audio $$$ for badly programmed software that just doesn’t do the job it was designed for?”

Beware Of Free Radio Automation Software

@Spacial Audio have written a blog post about choosing the right software for running a radio station with.

When it comes to free radio automation software they said this.

“Beware of Free Radio Automation Software, Free software can often come at a higher cost in the long run, with hidden fees and complex contracts that can be costly if you don’t foresee them”

What planet are you on Spacial Audio?

When it comes to FREE radio software such as RadioDJ there are NO catches, No hidden costs and No complex contracts

RadioDJ FREE radio automation software

RadioDJ doesn’t require registration keys or activations in order to unlock the benefits of the program.

“Meanwhile, genuinely free software sometimes does not deliver on expectations, from poor performance to a lack of support when things go wrong”

Wrong again! RadioDJ has great performance and stability one user we spoke to on Facebook hasn’t had to restart the program running on his laptop in over 12 months.

We also know of another Ex SAM Broadcaster user who is running 4 stations with RadioDJ with no issues.

RadioDJ free radio automation software has really great support via the community lead forums

It’s YOU who has the distinct “Lack of customer support” Spacial Audio!

Not a month goes by without us seeing some customer of yours complaining on social media that your Support department haven’t replied to their support ticket/query & sometimes it’s taken you over a week to reply to a user having problems with your software.

SAM Broadcaster Sucks

So you can cut that piece of bullshit out for starters.

It really annoys us when the Spacial Audio marketing department try and pull a stunt like this, Because they’re “worried” by the amount of $$$ they’re losing in sales to RadioDJ!

(Over $43,862,702 and 146,698 downloads at the last count)

Everyone knows that RadioDJ is the FUTURE of radio automation software.

Free radio automation software isn’t as BAD as Spacial Audio are trying to make out!

The free alternatives sometimes work far better than the paid for solutions such as SAM Broadcaster/SAM DJ/SAM Cast

You only have to search this website to learn just how bad SAM Broadcaster is as a piece of software.

“We’ve used RadioDJ for around 6 years now and haven’t had any issues with stability or reliability and we haven’t had to pay for any upgrades or new features”

The clue is in the name “RadioDJ FREE radio automation software”

RadioDJ is FREE will remain FREE for the foreseeable future…

Stop telling LIES about free software not being “as good” Spacial Audio it sounds like a desperate bid to make a sale of your software.

People can see through corporate bullshit you know!

You might want to take that blog post down Spacial as it’s full of lies from start to finish.

FREE software isn’t anyone’s enemy!

RadioDJ is completely 100% FREE with No catches despite what Spacial Audio might say…

Update!: A few hours after I posted this blog post it seems Spacial Audio changed the wording of their blog post! If that doesn’t show paranoia nothing does!

Changed Blog post.

Guess you were in the wrong all along eh Spacial?

P.S: Spacial If you’re really struggling to sell your software then maybe you should make SAM Broadcaster FREE and only charge for stuff like SAM Broadcaster Cloud.

(Just a thought)

Now You’re Starting To Look Desperate Spacial Audio

It’s been rare to see Spacial Audio tweet on Twitter.

They’re usually pretty quiet with very the occasional tweet saying “Happy To connect” when someone new follows them. That was until today.

Over the last few hours we’ve watched the Spacial Audio marketing team SPAM their Twitter followers with stuff to do with SAM Broadcaster Cloud.

CAREFUL Spacial Audio your marketing department are starting to look desperate for sales now!

We wouldn’t blame people if they started unfollowing Spacial on Twitter.

You don’t just SPAM your followers in a bid to make a desperate sale for a product nobody wanted in the first place!

We keep hearing so many horror stories about Spacial SAM Broadcaster Cloud product. Frequent service outages seems to be the norm.

Some users stations have been off air over 12 hours sometimes because of it. Any wonder no one wants to sign up to it

Spacial Audio need to start listening to & give their customers what they actually want and that’s certainly NOT SAM Broadcaster Cloud.

What most users of SAM Broadcaster want is…

Software free from bugs.
Software that works without using almost all of the CPU.
Software that doesn’t constantly crash.
A support team who care!

Most users of software want a customer support team who actually want to help people & know what they are doing. Instead of the current team who just seem to send out the same old tired canned replies.

Spacial Audio support

“It’s becoming more & more obvious that things are starting to go downhill at Spacial Audio given the amount of money they keep losing in sales. If they hadn’t pissed off the majority of their loyal users they wouldn’t be in this predicament!

I can understand why they are worried TBH.

The amount of people downloading RadioDJ this past few months has been crazy.

I’ve said it before and I’ll damn well say it again.

“RadioDJ FREE radio automation software is very much the future of Internet radio automation software”

RadioDJ free radio automation software

We’ve watched the downloads of RadioDJ creep up from around 20,000 downloads to just over 100,000

Little wonder Spacial Audio are starting to sound oh so desperate for sales?

Stop Spamming people Spacial Audio although it’s something your quite good at when you’re NOT getting your own way all of the time isn’t it?

We’ve told them to bugger off in the past with spam emails we ended up having to block/filter their email addresses.

You can guarantee their marketing department will not take a blind bit of notice.

Give it up Spacial Audio you will never win customers when there is better FREE software that works better than anything your development team seem to be able to code.

They Said No One Would Read This…

It’s just a little over 4 years since I first started this blog.

I initially set this website up to let off steam about SAM Broadcaster which I’ve had no end of problems with over the years.

In that time I’ve also documented just how badly Spacial Audio treat their customers.

Nothing ever changes when it comes to Spacial Audio they don’t care about their software!

I’ve had people say to me on forums.

“I bet no one reads your blog anyway”

How wrong can people be? According to my stats 157,976 people have visited this blog in the past 12 months.

So I must be making some sort of difference somewhere in the world of Internet radio.

To say I’m chuffed by the number of people visiting this blog would be an understatement.

The hard work will continue & You can bet your bottom dollar on that one!

The original message still hasn’t changed.

“Don’t pay Spacial Audio for SAM Broadcaster You won’t get the help you need when something goes wrong (Which it will) with the software”

You don’t need SAM Broadcaster to stream these days when RadioDJ is FREE!! (NOT Misleading!)

RadioDJ is far more stable & doesn’t crash like SAM Broadcaster is known to.

Once setup RadioDJ will run for weeks/months without anyone needing to keep an eye on the program.

Give RadioDJ a try you may just find it outperforms SAM Broadcaster in every way possible.
