Weekly American Top 40 Charts Archive

Just seen a post on the RadioDJ forums from a user of the software who has put together a website of the Weekly American Top 40 Charts.

The guy spent the last 10 years of his life compiling and posting the entire American Top 40 charts for every week in the rock era from 1955 (and working on 2007 to current).

He has a small group of guys working on these things nearly every day of the week to correct errors and make sure each chart is 100% accurate and complete.

So if you need a reference to all of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s Top 40 charts…

Frustration at audio distortion (SAM Broadcaster)

Been watching a topic on the Spacial forums for a few days now where a long time user of SAM Broadcaster is complaining about really bad distortion on his stream.

I get a distorted & garbled audio stream with SAM Broadcaster.
I searched the forum and couldn’t find any conclusive troubleshooting on the topic.
I don’t have time for yet another rebuild. I’m tired of rebuilding.
I have to think about whether SAM is right for our station any more.

Isn’t technology wonderful??!

We’ve been having a few issues with our main Windows 10 PC for the past few days, It’s been crawling and crashing at random intervals.

We gave it a service the other day thinking it was fluff blocking the vents/fans/cpu that was causing the PC to go slow.

Nope even after giving it a bit of TLC it still wasn’t working as it should have done. Windows still kept crawling along…

Live365 Closes, So What Next?

The 31st of January 2016 will go down in history as a dark day for Internet radio when Live365 closes down.

The closure of such a big player in the streaming industry is going to leave 1000’s of Internet radio stations/broadcasters without a licensed stream.

It was Live365 that sparked my interest in Internet radio way back in 1999/2000 time.

I listened to a lot of different stations via dial-up some I enjoyed some I didn’t.

Hey Mr DJ Can You Play…

In all the years I’ve been a DJ I’ve worked in some great places & I’ve lost count of the amount of requests I’ve taken from people for songs at some special event such as birthday or wedding.

Although requests were usually OK, Some nights you would get that one person who constantly kept coming up to the booth or stage demanding you played the song(s) they wanted to hear.

At one venue in Scunthorpe in 2008 I ended up quitting the Friday night DJ position after someone threatened me with violence for not playing the songs he wanted to hear… Thankfully that venue has long since been demolished to make way for housing.

What these IDIOTS need to remember is DJ’s are creative people & they’re paid to entertain a crowd!

DJ’s are NOT a Jukebox! You don’t dictate the playlist.

It takes a lot of skill and thought to get the playlist/set just right for the audience you are entertaining.

Next time you’re at a party and there’s a DJ playing the party tunes leave him to it he knows what he’s doing.

Although If you do feel the need to ask a DJ for a request at a party/pub etc…

Don’t start threatening them it will only get your song request put to the very bottom of the DJ’s playlist!
