Anti-Virus Problems and RadioDJ

Anti-Virus Problems and RadioDJ

RadioDJ FREE radio automation software

We’ve heard of a few users saying that they couldn’t get RadioDJ to work because their antivirus program flags it as suspicious.

The main reason these pieces of Antivirus software keep flagging things up with RadioDJ is because Marius is trying to protect his code. You can’t blame him for that!

We can assure you the RadioDJ program files aren’t riddled with any form of virus or malware.

It’s the anti-virus software giving a False/Positive result. These are just two quotes direct from Marius the developer of RadioDJ

“Avast is in some cases reporting files as infected. That is a false/positive!”
“I assure our users that I always check released files with most modern antivirus programs”

We had a similar issue with Avast & Kaspersky when it kept deleting the RadioDJ.exe program file because they thought it was suspicious.

The team at Kaspersky actually apologised for the problem: Sorry, it was a false detection. It will be fixed in the next update. Thank you for your help.

Despite what Kaspersky/Norton/AVG/Avast/Bitdefender may say…

“There are NO nasty Viruses or Malware in RadioDJ we wouldn’t have used the software for the past 5 years if it wasn’t safe”

We’re finding that Windows Defender seems to be doing a good enough job keeping the Windows 10 PC we run RadioDJ on safe. But then again we aren’t browsing dodgy websites or downloading virus laden pirated software on that PC…

Unless you browse “dodgy” websites or download “pirated” software you don’t really need antivirus software on the machine running RadioDJ.

There’s certainly no need for antivirus on a production machine as the antivirus software could interfere with the smooth running of the program.

Yes you can quote me on that!

Sorry AVAST! That’s a NO from us.

For the past 10 years I’ve championed AVAST as an antivirus solution, It used to sit running in the background keeping you quietly protected.

Recent versions however seem to want to take over the files on the computer and delete them if it “thinks” they are suspicious.

NO NO NO! I don’t want an antivirus program telling me what files are safe on my PC

I want to be able to decide that for myself TYVM!

We’re going back to Kaspersky seeing as my partner gets a licence for it through his bank.

Cheerio Avast it was nice knowing you….. until you started fucking RadioDJ users about!

There’s no malware in RadioDJ you MUPPETS!

PC Problems?

I quite often see posts from people on forums saying that their PC constantly crashes or is slow and sluggish. There are several easy solutions to stop this from happening.

If your PC is slow and not working as well as it should then I highly recommend that you try CCleaner from Piriform.

1) Install CCleaner and confgure it to clean out temp files.

2) Run CCleaner to clean out your temp and junk files.

3) Run a registry scan (This may take a while on first run) when prompted click on “Fix All Issues” and allow CCleaner to fix them for you.

4) Reboot your PC you should notice a huge difference in performance.

It’s probably also worth mentioning that using Anti Virus software can also help improve the performance of your PC. I highly recommend Avast as an Anti-Virus solution for your computer.

Another tip for better PC performance is do NOT allow applications to install toolbars on your browsers, Most of them are riddled with spyware.

Make sure you run CCleaner at least once a week so you don’t have junk files slowing everything down.

You’ll be thankful in the long run!

Anti Virus Software & SAM Broadcaster

I occasionally see posts on the Spacial forums telling users not to use Anti Virus Software & SAM Broadcaster together.

Complete bunkum!!

That’s it Spacial leave users without virus protection while they run your software.

What planet do they live on?

There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use anti-virus software while running a radio automation program.

I urge users of SAM Broadcaster who aren’t running any Anti-virus software to install Avast .

It won’t hog resources it will just sit back and protect you quietly in the background.

Of course if you have issues running SAM Broadcaster along side anti-virus software then I also recommend you ditch it and start using RadioDJ instead.

Avast and RadioDJ seem to work rather well together.
