Threatened By Free Software?

We wish we knew what people's problem is with free software...

We’ve had grief again for promoting RadioDJ, and dispelling a few myths about it too.

Who Will Write The Plugins For Radiodj?

Calling all developers!

We’ve had some great plugins written for RadioDJ free radio automation software over the past couple of years.

However… the author of the Altacast plugin, DSP stacker plugin & recording plugin doesn’t appear to be coding much at the moment, He also hasn’t been on the forums for a while either, due to personal reasons. As most people will realise life has a nasty habit of getting in the way.

Altacast No Longer Supported On The Radiodj Forum

This morning I went onto the RadioDJ forums to see what was happening.

I saw a post from Marius the website owner stating that the Altacast sub forum had been removed.

“We were notified that Altacast is violating DMCA and as a result I will remove all related stuff from this forum.”

Radionomy to be sued?

A news article popped up on Torrent Freak about a group of prominent U.S. record labels who have filed a lawsuit against the DIY online radio platform Radionomy for:

“Promoting and facilitating mass copyright infringement by hosting ‘pirate’ radio stations”

Why Does Radiodj Rely On A Mysql Database?

Saw this post on a forum on a post about RadioDJ free radio automation software.

“The biggest fail with RadioDJ to me is the reliance upon a MySQL database”

So Why does RadioDJ rely on a MYSQL database?

RadioDJ requires MySQL to run some backend functions such as Rotations/Playlists/Events and even listener requests.

The fact RadioDJ relies on an SQL database for some of it’s functions is actually one of it’s PLUS points.
