SAM Broadcaster for the Mac has now been Scrapped/discontinued by Spacial Audio!
I keep my eyes peeled for nuggets about certain software on Twitter.
A credible piece of information just landed in my lap (again!)
It would appear that SAM Broadcaster for the Mac doesn’t allow you to have the usual 30 day (51 Hour) trial period.
“The functionality is however exactly the same as the Windows version”
Could that be because it is the Windows version just ported over using Crossover?
It appears the Mac (crossover) version of SAM Broadcaster 2015 was cobbled together in a rush to get a working release out and is likely to contain a lot of untested bugs, SAM Broadcaster Mac edition is certainly NOT Mac native software.
OK Spacial… What’s the point in porting the Windows version of SAM Broadcaster over to Mac if it doesn’t offer the user a trial period?
So there’s no way of knowing if SAM Broadcaster is going to work on their Mac unless the user pays out $$$ for the software.
That’s just bad & wrong in so many ways.
What happens if someone purchases SAM Broadcaster 2015 for the Mac finds out it’s not for them & then they want a refund?
We know from experience that Spacial Audio don’t like giving refunds once you’ve purchased software/services from them.
We’ve heard no end of complaints over the past 10/12 years from people who have had trouble getting their money back from Spacial.
They’re going to start alienating most of the Mac users if they aren’t careful.
I know a few Mac users and they generally only want software that is built specially for OS X
They don’t want some two bit Windows program ported over using a third party program however good that 3rd party product may be.
They really haven’t got a clue when it comes to what Mac users want?
Stop buying software from Spacial Audio your only paying them to go from one disaster to another.
